Blue Space Showcase: Bela + Mellowgod + Radha

$10 Cover @ the Door ($5 w/ RSVP) / Start 10:30pm / Doors 10pm

Following their first official release in July, Blue Space Records has been known for their promotional work with singer/songwriter/producer - Bela, of Malden, MA. On July 2nd, 2018, Bela released her debut EP "Peach" under the label, and has since released several singles and visual content, including a photo series titled "solitude". The Boston-based label has since promised more talented acts in 2019, and the Blue Space Showcase is just a taste of what's to come. The show will not only feature a performance from Bela, but will also introduce 2 new candidates for the label - Mellowgod, a gifted lyricists and upbeat Hip-Hop artist from Stoughton; and Radha Rao, an unbelievably amazing vocalist from Sharon. The 3 talented acts will each be performing their own set, and showcasing their hard work all in one night. Definitely not a show to miss!

Bela is a 19-year-old ambient/R&B artist from Malden, MA. Her earliest musical influences came from her mother; being a singer, dancer, and painter, it’s easy to say Bela's artistic side came from her. She recently debuted her first EP in July titled "Peach".  "For [Peach], I embarked on a journey to find my self-worth. In the recent months, I started getting out of my comfort zone and began moving towards things that in the past made me feel uncomfortable. I remember at a young age I considered myself to be shy and less outgoing. Today as an artist I feel as if I am boundless, and when it comes to my project Peach, it wrote itself." Bela's music is known for carrying a lot of emotional weight, and with her soothing voice tied with her abstract songwriting, she's a natural at painting her feelings on a sonic canvas for her listeners to relate and understand.

Mellowgod, also known as “Mellow, Melodygod, Young Apollo, Reaper, and Livelovelean”, is a 22 year old producer and recording artist from the outskirts of Boston - delivering a fresh take on Hip-Hop. Though often heard on jumpy, uptempo instrumentals, the Mellowgod is most known for his versatility, spitting flows down various sub-genres including boom bap, trap, and even dream-pop. "I find it important to incorporate the vision I want early on into my craft, and to have that be almost the entire basis of my music, rather than jumping on whatever wave is new." Mellow's name speaks true in his music, formulating songs that definitely make a person feel some type of way. If modern Hip-Hop is your thing, I guarantee scrolling through Mellowgod's catalog will land you on a song that won't want to leave your head.

Radha Rao is an ambitious 19-year-old singer and Boston University College Student hailing from Sharon, Massachusetts. Her passion for singing began when she was a little girl learning Indian classical music from her mother. Being a music teacher, her mother frequently had students of her own in and out of her home, which played a major role in nurturing her daughters love for music. Indian music was the first style Radha had gravitated towards, and as she got older, her taste shifted to a more American style of music. Sada, Norah Jones, and especially Jhene Aiko, are artists she considers to have a great influence on her as a singer. Most would say that Jhene and Radha share a melancholy late-night vibe, but- what allows Radha to stand out from her influencers is the angelic timbre in her voice, which gently caresses your ear as a listener. Though her musical career is in its infancy, dedication and time are the only factors that separate her from those she looks up to.
