Pianist and composer Eric Ostling has maintained a career in both the jazz and classical worlds, composing, performing and recording over four decades. A graduate of MIT and the Performing Arts School in Louisville, he has worked with Pulitzer composers John Harbison and Karel Husa, and legendary jazz teachers Jamey Aebersold, Herb Pomeroy and Charlie Banacos. He has written articles on the nature of music, its instruction and performance, making his own contributions to the legacy of these masters and the teaching approach of Mr. Banacos in particular.
