Sarma Brass Band
Sarma Brass Band is the realization of founder Tano Brock's vision to bring traditional Balkan Romani Brass to Boston. They play a variety of music from Macedonia, Serbia, Greece, and Albania, as well as some original material. The 9-piece bands consists of the many instruments traditional to the Balkan Brass style: saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, euphonium, sousaphone, tapan, and darbuka. Sarma Brass Band, drawing upon Tano's upbringing in the Balkan scene in Northern California, as well as his travels through the Balkans, evokes the energetic grooves and soaring melodies of the Balkan Roma.
Cocek Brass Band
Cocek! (Pronounced Cho-Check) Brass Band performs music inspired by The Balkans, New Orleans and Afrobeat musical traditions. Infectious melodies, upbeat rhythms and harmonies make for music that you'll not soon forget.
