The JMDE Quartet is a  unique ensemble of diverse instruments and  instrumentalists. Each player hails from a different background, and combines their skills  with the singular goal of creating emotive compositions, spontaneously.The resultant, textured soundscapes range from the beautiful to the bizarre.

Michael Knoblach brings an extraordinary command of traditional and found percussion instruments in a non-traditional style of playing. Eric Dahlman is a renowned brass instrumentalsist with extraordinary vocal and electronic expertise on display amidst his trumpets and flugelhorn. Jimmy Zhao has mastered the gamut of traditional Chinese instruments along with the added colors  of violin, cello and viola. David Williams brings his flute, alto flute bass flute and piccolo with nuanced electronic touches.
