Jack Soref, Dallas Vietty, Jameson Stewart, Sven Larson, and Jim Guttman, will be joining forces for this special CD release show. Jazz manouche guitarist Jack Soref is releasing an album of his original compositions, and the band is going to play 'em all! Expect Django style guitar, rollicking jazz accordion, Bebop, Klezmer, Samba, Waltzes, impressionistic melodies, improvisation and lots of fun!
The Jack Soref Quartet is a group deeply rooted in the Jazz Manouche tradition of Django Reinahardt, and the Sinti musicians keeping his legacy alive today. Individually the members of the band have been featured on the stages of every notable Django festival in the country, and have backed up many of the leading lights of the style. Together the band reaches forward and back in time, paying homage to the music of Django Reinhardt while simultaneously enriching the tradition with their own compositions. The chemistry of these musicians always yields a fertile musical dialogue, and many wonderful surprises.
