Ultimate Status

Ultimate Status, led by Eric Stilwell, explores the many forms and facets of free jazz. The compositions rely heavily on improvisation and spontaneous communication between performers. The groups aesthetic is influenced by the work of Anthony Braxton, Albert Ayler, Peter Evans, and Mary Halvorson, among many others.

Petite Feet

Petite Feet is the collective name of three friends and New England Conservatory alumni: pianist Shane Simpson, saxophonist Travis Bliss, and drummer Jonathan Starks.  As a band, they are dedicated to performing their arrangements of the ragtime music of Scott Joplin, drawing inspiration from player pianos, minimalism, dance, glitch art, and comedy duo Tim and Eric.  Every Petite Feet performance is a step into the past as well as the future, bound to offer a wild and memorable time.

Travis Bliss - tenor sax

PRNCX

PRNCX is an ever-changing cast of players, whose members stem from musically diverse spheres of jazz, free improvisation, contemporary classical, bluegrass, and indie-rock. Each performance condenses and stretches compositions to fit the given iteration, constantly unearthing novel aspects of a set repertoire, via compositions which place choice and freedom at the fore. In this way, the music is truly reflective of the distinct identities of the musicians on any given performance.

Steven Long - piano/composition

Carrie Furniss - voice

Lily Honigberg - violin

Gabriel Garcia - alto sax

Travis Bliss - tenor sax

Dan Klingsberg - bass

Jonathan Starks - drums
