A night of performances from three up and coming Boston Singer Songwriters.
Havins is an Alternative Americana band based in Boston, MA helmed by Singer-Songwriter Dillon Havins. Originally from Austin, TX, Dillon grew up listening to Texas Country, and he currently appreciates indie artists such as Bon Iver, Shakey Graves, and Ben Howard. His songs represent a fusion of these influences— best illustrated by a lyrical selection from his song “Elbows:” “I grew up in the country, under the big oak tree… now I spend my days in the city, studying poetry.” While attending Berklee College of Music, he crossed paths with his current band-mates: Wilson Reardon, Jay Yin, Philip Etherington, Ryan Siegel, Tara MagulliHe also participated in season one of the ABC reboot of American Idol, and made it to Hollywood Week.
In summer of 2018, Havins returned to Texas for their first tour, playing shows around Austin and Dallas. Currently, they are in the studio laying down tracks for their debut single and performing in Boston. As a band, they endeavor to bring the musical experience back down to the earth for their listeners, leaving them both enlivened and contemplative.
