"Kinloch Nelson plays with the virtuosity of a classical master and the sensibility of a pop performer." --Portland Press Herald, Portland, ME

"Watching Nelson play guitar is essentially witnessing the deconstruction of the instrument. Listening is a journey through American roots: jazz, country, blues, classical, folk and whatever it is that ties them all together. Nelson's knowledge of the guitar and the dexterity with which he explores its intricacies is simply amazing. I swear the guy's got more than ten fingers." -- Frank De Blase - Rochster City News.

Nelson's 45-year-and-counting career has run the gamut from solo classical recitals and folk concerts, to club and festival dates with country, rockabilly, jazz, swing, and R & B bands. Along the way Nelson has played with such notables as Tom Paxton, Buddy Guy, and long-time influence Danny Gatton.

Nelson's guitar concerts combine jazz, folk, classical, Americana, and American Primitive with original compositions and improvisations in programs that range from J.S. Bach to rhythm & blues and typically include references to Miles Davis, Flatt and Scruggs, Franz Schubert, John Fahey, Leo Kotke, The Ventures, the "Folk Scare," the "British Invasion," and the occasional TV-theme-stump-the-audience medley.

Performances credits include:  Montreal Jazz Festival; Time/Warner Jazz Festival in Rochester NY; Owen Sound Summer Folk Festival; Little Mountain Folk Festival; Fretted Instrument Guild of America; The NAAM Shows in Nashville & Los Angeles; and the Newport, Montreal, Healdsburg, Santa Barbara, and Woodstock Luthier Invitational Guitar Festivals.
