A group of friends from Berklee College of Music have come together to share their original music with an acoustic showcase.
Jess Kerber is a singer/songwriter taking influences from the 60s/70s era of folk. With both parents being musicians, from an early age she was exposed to artists such as Joni Mitchell, The Allman Brothers, and Norah Jones. Born in New Orleans, throughout high school, Jess performed at many festivals and social events, as a solo act and part of multiple musical groups. In 2018, She released her first EP entitled, Falling Forward, just after graduating high school. Following performing in the Top Ten Singer/Songwriter Showcase at Berklee College of Music's Five Week Summer Performance Program, Jess has since relocated to Boston to attend Berklee as the 2018 recipient of the Berklee/Lollapalooza full tuition scholarship.
She experiments with intricate layering and harmonies, a technique that brings cohesion to her diverse writing style. Her passion for music reaches further than the stage. She is an advocate for the local LGBTQIA community. Her songs draw inspiration from her struggles with friendship, identity, and confidence as well as her accomplishments.
Teghan Devon is an award-winning singer-songwriter. Her music is a cross-pollination of folk, pop, and indie rock. According to houstonmusicreview.com, she "faintly brings back recollections of Edie Brickell's unique and fresh lilt and perspective.” In December 2018, Teghan won multiple awards in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, including Young Artist winner and a Silver Award. Teghan was selected as a New Folk Finalist at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2018 and 2017.
In July of 2018 Teghan released her first full-length album “Fingers Crossed” and she is recording an EP to be released in the Spring of 2019.
Zach Seals is an award winning singer songwriter from Baltimore Maryland with a unique soulful sound that can’t be missed. His music tells stories from his tumultuous life and heart breaks.
Joy Johnson is a 21 year-old from South Georgia who plays and writes tunes inspired by grit, rock, and rhythm & blues.
Michael Kjelgaard is a folk/rock singer songwriter from Massachusetts. He grew up playing in bands, and doing solo performances. He draws influences from David Bowie, The Mamas and The Papas, Smashing Pumpkins, Willie Nelson, and more recent artists like Trixie Mattel, The Lumineers, LP, and Lady Gaga. He is a multi-instrumentalist playing the Piano, Guitar and Autoharp. Michael is now studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
