The Jean-marie Corrois “JM” Trio will play some original compositions and some covers from Pat Metheny, John Scofeild and Mark Johnson.
Jean-marie Corrois is a French born drummer, he started is career in France in the 80’s. Influenced by jazz and world music, he performed for 15 years in Paris jazz clubs and French jazz festivals. Moving to the US in 2000, he joined latin jazz bands and Cajun Zydeco formations in Florida before moving to Boston where he lives today.
Scullers, Regatta Bar, Ryles among others, are the venues in which he played in the Boston area, Bonafide and The Shrines are the ones he has performed in New York.”
His trio has already performed at Bonafide club in New York, Once in Somerville, Third Life Studio and Ryles in Somerville.”
His CD Kaya was recorded with his quartet in 2008, the compositions from this recording where played at the Vienne Jazz festival and many French jazz clubs in the 90’s.
