Julien Chang and the Deep Green are five close friends (Julien Chang, Maya Keren, Maya Stepansky, Jeffrey Gordon, and Akiva Jacobs) who met serendipitously in the lobby of the music building during their first week at university together. Since that moment they have been orchestrating and performing live arrangements of Julien's music around the Northeast and Europe. Drawing from rock, Black American music, punk, klezmer, R&B, and classical influences, the collective dances with ease across Julien's intricate forms, with a blazing fire and joyfulness at the center of their sound.
