Autumn Hollow have played over one hundred shows in some of the best regional venues including The Paradise Rock Club, The Iron Horse Music Hall, the Higher Ground, The Regent Theater, Club Passim. They have shared the stage with national acts, including The Handsome Family, The Wooden Sky, Brown Bird, and Dead Winter Carpenters. The band is a mish-mash of the Grateful Dead and The Band, more Wilco than Son Volt, but is a sound all their own. The Autumn Holler gents make you want to flick a Bic, raise a beer and sing along.

In addition to the enthusiastic support of their long-time fans, Autumn Hollow continues to receive critical praise. Red Line Roots writes the following about “Orlando Brown” -- the single off their second full-length eponymous album.   -- “It makes me want to be in the crowd at these guys live gig so I can sing along, raise my drink in the air, and cheers to the whole audience.” Musikkbloggen notes, “Like a little cross between Whiskey Town and Uncle Tupelo as these guys caught me right away.” Max Bowen of the Noise says, “The album’s momentum never wavers, and not once did a song grace my ears that I didn’t want to hear again. Or three times, or four. F**k it, just hit repeat and let this be the soundtrack of my day!”. And Daykamp music declares, “The Autumn Hollow is a band that sounds like The Band. They have one foot in rock, one in folk and one in country. They are a three-legged monster of Americana.”

Chris Murphy

Chris Field.jpeg

Chris Murphy is an American musician with a distinct talent. His ability to nurture and maintain his many music identities includes that of singer/songwriter (500+ songs), multi-instrumentalist (violin, electronic violin, guitarist, mandolin, dobro, to name a few), composer, arranger, and producer. Even more daunting is his chameleon-like music persona that embodies a wide range of musical styles and influences from jazz, blues, country, classical, ethnic and electronic, resulting in a distinctly original and powerful voice. He is that rare breed of musician that creates and performs in a multitude of musical worlds with ease. Cyrus Rhodes of NO DEPRESSION considers Murphy to be “one of the best songwriters in popular music unjustly flying under the radar.” His fearless exploration of multiple genres has gifted him with the ability to thrive as an independent musician. He has been composing, performing, and recording his original music for 30 years in the categories of Folk, Blues, Jazz, Bluegrass, Gypsy, Swing, Celtic, various World Music styles, Industrial Mood Music EDM and more recently Ambient music. He has 16 solo albums to his credit, with an additional 20 albums as a collaborative musician and producer. A modern-day troubadour and considered a colossus of Americana, he is a new artist collaborator with Friendly Folk Records since 2020.
