Mark Lang and Friends
An evening of rock/punk/dance punk covers and originals by Mark Lang, with support from his friends who he mostly met at the Wednesday night Lilypad Variety Show hosted by Jesse Gallagher, but also some he met in other places or on different nights of the week.
Mark Lang
Mark Lang is a Cambridge based musician (guitar, vocals, bass, piano, drums), writer of poetry and almost-stream-of-conscious prose, photographer, and nonsense machine. He also loves to dance but is a firm believer that you can't include five attributes in your opening sentence. He's been playing guitar and writing music for most of his life, but spent many years in school as an electrical and software engineer, struggling to give music the priority he knew it deserved. In January he quit his job with no plan but to allow space for music to take whatever role in his life it was needing, and has since spent the past nine months exploring his connection with his instruments, with music, with his community, and deepening his meditation and spiritual practice, over time realizing that music and meditation and the universe are all the same thing. Mark performs weekly at the Lilypad Variety Show, and now works at Lilypad running sound and bar for shows a couple nights a week. Mark's guiding principles are a strong focus on community, letting go in order to experience the full richness of life, and pushing his own boundaries to discover what is in the unknown.
