Berklee’s Downbeat Award Winning vocal jazz group presents a sneak peak of their debut album, also featuring arrangements by Take 6, The New York Voices, The Real Group, and more.
PoD is the first and only student-run Downbeat Award winning vocal jazz group at Berklee. Singing both a cappella and with a rhythm section, PoD has its musical roots buried deep in groups such as New York Voices, Take 6, and The Singers Unlimited. The group has been mentored by members of The New York Voices themselves, as well as the award-winning, internationally touring 6-piece vocal group, Accent. Point of Departure performs from a vast repertoire of jazz standards by renowned songwriters such as Irving Berlin, Cole Porter and Gene Puerling. In March 2019, they released their debut EP, "Circadian," featuring original arrangements from members of the group. Their debut album, "In Time," is currently slated for a Spring 2022 release.
