CANCELLED: Charlie Christenson

  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

NOTE: THIS SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELLED, WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE

Charlie Christenson, currently on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music, will be playing his first show as a bandleader since moving to New England this past fall. He’ll be joined by the incredibly talented Isaac Romagosa on guitar, Milena Casado on flugelhorn, and Alexandria DeWalt on vocals and flute (along with a few very special guests) for a night of originals and covers spanning the gamut of jazz, folk, and indie rock.

Vocalist, pianist, and songwriter, Charlie Christenson has been called “natural and creative and completely unaware that he is the real deal,” (Peter Eldridge) and “a gifted young composer, arranger, and vocalist whose love and talent for jazz is a godsend for anyone worried about the future of this music” (Kate McGarry). He is equally at home playing, singing, and improvising in a wide array of contemporary styles—particularly rock, R&B, folk, and jazz (all of which are represented in the working bands which he has led in Minneapolis, Miami, and New York). His recordings can be found on Spotify and Apple Music, released independently and through the New York–based label Biophilia Records.
