Bodies of Motion: String quartet program showcasing works by Inti Figgis-Vizueta, Joseph Haydn, and Johannes Brahms.

The Izarra Quartet (Matthew Vera, violin; Benjamin Carson, violin; Samuel Kelder, viola; and Thomas Barth, cello) believes that music is the greatest force humanity has to bring together community and explore the emotional world around us. Composed of leading voices in the Boston classical scene, Izarra Quartet is a newly formed string ensemble with a mission to deliver fresh takes on the classical cannon and to amplify compositional voices of today through programming of BIPOC and LGBTQ+ composers. Its members are acclaimed orchestral leaders, chamber musicians, and soloists, with an impressive array of experience that has led them to concertize across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Izarra members hold degrees from the New England Conservatory, Northwestern University, University of Michigan, and Mannes The New School for Music.
