This Halloween, join sidebody and friends for a night of spirit mediation (from Heather Maguire), multi-track ontology (from Idgy Dean), and rock and roll (from all). as a bonus, help beloved local band sidebody raise funds to record their second album.
sidebody: sidebody is a group of friends making music in Somerville, Massachusetts. they are known for their mesmeric and high-energy live shows, which are never the same twice, and where you may see them rise from the dead, play tricks, and/or write songs live on stage with the help of the crowd. their first album, "sidebody," released independently in 2022, gained praise and airplay around new england, and their 2023 porchfest set drew so many people that the surrounding porches were in danger of collapse. they are now working on their second album. Idgy Dean: Idgy Dean (aka Lindsay Sanwald) is a musical artist and creative producer from NYC presently based in Massachusetts. She has devoted her life to writing, recording, and touring her mystical/queer/feminist one-woman psychedelic rock shows across the USA and abroad, opening for Thundercat, Dorian Concept, Liars, and Britta Phillips, and headlining sold out shows at House of Yes in Brooklyn and Arlyn Studios in Austin. She was one of the 70 hand-picked artists from around the world to attend the Red Bull Music Academy in Montreal in 2016, where she was mentored by musical luminaries including Björk, Pauline Oliveros, Susan Rogers, Deradoorian, tUnE-yArDs, and Dev Hynes. She had her TV debut on The Chris Gethard Show with special guest star Diddy and co-produced a track with Hip Hop legend Darryl McDaniels of Run-DMC. Lindsay studied comparative literature at Sarah Lawrence College, served as a Fulbright Scholar in Argentina, and recently wrapped up three years of monastic study at Harvard Divinity School, where she earned a Master of Divinity degree. Idgy Dean's new record, A Chronicle of Lightning Bolts (April 2023), was her final Harvard Divinity thesis project: a one-woman mystical rock opera of songs and visions composed during pandemic times.
