This Music (TM) Series is a Boston musician’s initiative to recognize the creativity of many who haven’t been given the stage as leaders, often younger than the Jazz scene veterans; those with acknowledgement who can create a new project and musical ideas; and the unsung “gems” who aren’t in the public’ eye and deserve to be. The emphasis is on the freer forms, the adventurous (to help find a “home”).

Gabe Boyarin, Marie Carroll, and Diego Martinez - a dynamic trio of up-and-coming improvisers and composers, currently making waves in the vibrant music scene of New England. Embracing influences from free jazz, 20th-century atonality, electroacoustic composition, and non-western musical practices, their performances are a harmonious fusion of tradition and innovation.

Get ready to be spellbound by their riveting compositions and improvisations, as they create an unforgettable musical experience that transcends genres and captivates the soul. Don't miss the chance to witness this rising star ensemble live in action!

Originally from Memphis, double bassist Diego Martinez has utilized their extensive background as a classical performer to inform their improvisational language. Influenced by drone music, as well as American free jazz musicians such as John Coltrane, Cecil Taylor, Charlie Haden, and Pharoah Sanders; Diego seeks to expand the vocabulary of the double bass in a context of complete creative freedom that acknowledges the tradition of innovation within radical musical movements throughout history.
