Yifei and Kai are a guitar and voice improvising duo, who draw influence from jazz, poetry, and traditional Chinese music and songs. Using the shapes and sound of words and characters as guidance in their improvisation, they explore different soundscapes, colors, feelings, techniques, and pacing. This creates improvisation, that while not moving parallel to the given poetry, aligns with the intent, contours, and feelings of it.
