Beat the heat this July with three unique indie rock acts from Berklee—Ren McLean, Atticus, and Raccoon Road—with a wide range of sounds within the indie genre, we’re sure to knock your socks off!
Ren McLean is a 22 year old indie folk/indie rock singer-songwriter based in Boston. In her music, Ren tells the stories of her own experiences, putting raw emotion into every lyric. By writing unapologetically about being queer and struggling with mental illness, Ren hopes to build a community that celebrates uniqueness, de-stigmatizes mental illness, and encourages empathy towards others.
Atticus is an Alt-Rock band for your ears and your heart.
We mix heart wrenching vocals with dynamic instrumentals to evoke and explore the experience of the Divine Feminine.
Raccoon Road is an indie/alternative rock band based in Boston, MA, blending fuzzy guitar riffs, introspective lyrics, and a raw, emotive sound. Formed at Berklee College of Music in 2024 by Michael Hoffman, Garrett Briskin, Kaelan Book and Cate Yoder, the band draws influences from the sounds of classic rock, post-punk, and surf-rock indie to create music that’s both atmospheric and energetic. Raccoon Road is a rising force in the indie scene, committed to crafting music that resonates deeply with listeners.
