Ben Cosgrove is a nationally-touring pianist and composer based in northern New England. Jamie Kallestad is a singer/songwriter from Minnesota, now living in Massachusetts. As 90-Mile Portage, the duo has been making folk-adjacent music together for 15 years.
Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist based in northern New England. He performs regularly all over the country, presenting original instrumental music that explores themes of landscape, geography, and environment while straddling a line between the folk and classical genres.
90-Mile Portage is a collaboration between composer/pianist Ben Cosgrove and singer/songwriter Jamie Kallestad. The music of 90-Mile Portage melds the two members' musical styles: set to Cosgrove's lush and unconventional arrangements, Kallestad's songs take flight, his lake-clear vocals and inward-looking lyrics carried aloft on a wash of instrumental layers.
