Welcome to PIECES vol. iv, the fourth installment of EveryDejaVu Record's concert series. With this series, we've been putting together shows blending local talent with our label roster bringing you a diverse grouping of sounds. This one is a mix of indie pop, R&B, jazz and latin with artists from all around Boston and New England: Angel Javier, TEATEA, and Borboleta.
Angel Javier is a first-generation Dominican-American artist whose music embodies resilience and artistic exploration. As a bilingual singer-songwriter and producer, Angel blends boom-bap instrumentals, mellow grooves, and melting guitar tones, inspired by his multicultural upbringing.
His musical journey began in his teens, playing guitar, beat-making, and performing in his high school jazz band and choir. Though financial challenges paused his studies at Berklee College of Music, Angel refined his skills and honed his craft performing in Boston's vibrant music scene. From local dive bars to major stages like Boston Calling and The House of Blues, his dedication earned him recognition as an Artist to Watch by Ones To Watch in 2022 and international acclaim, with press coverage and radio play spanning the Americas.
In 2025, Angel will release his second EP, “Analog EP Vol. 2," and debut "Timido-Pop," his first fully Spanish-language project, blending Afro- Latin influences with contemporary sounds.
TEATEA is all about pushing boundaries and taking creativity to the next level. Fueled by love, passion, experimenting and collaboration, they're always linked to make something unexpected but fun. This year, she's gearing up to drop some game-changing projects that blend talents and experiences to show emotions. Expect genre- bending art and adventures. With an unstoppable drive to evolve and explore, TEATEA is here to constantly re envision what it means to be an artist and wants to leave an impression. Borboleta (pronounced bor-boh-LEH-tah) is the alt-R&B and pop project of Rochelle Leach, a songwriter whose music blends a jazzy, soulful depth with poetic lyricism and hip-hop-lined delivery. Inspired by the raw storytelling of Fiona Apple and the groove of Janet Jackson, her sound has already caught attention, most notably when BBC Radio praised her breakout single "Sunchips" in 2020. Her upcoming project will take a playful approach to her heartfelt confessions, offering a mix of breakup anthems that feel both intimate and irresistible. For fans of WILLOW, Amy Winehouse, and Kali Uchis, Borboleta’s music is a diary set to melody.
