Join sister duo, Desiree & Emily Dennis, for a moving evening of original music & their favorite duet covers. Throughout the night, Desiree & Emily will explore the theme of the unresolved... sharing songs about their quest for love & purpose, and the yearning & heartbreaks they have experienced along the way.

Born to two professional musicians, Desiree & Emily Dennis have been singing and playing duets together since they were toddlers.  In the last decade, they have each been venturing into the realm of songwriting as a mode of self-expression and personal healing.  It is their great joy to have the opportunity to share their original music with a wider audience in their premiere performance at the Lilypad.  

Desiree Dennis is a Boston-based musician who believes that music is one of the greatest forms of therapy for our soul.  It is her hope that by sharing the intimate & challenging aspects of her own life journey through song, she can offer a sense of healing & catharsis to others through the power of the shared human experience.  After primarily spending her teenage & early adult years as a piano accompanist for solo vocalists and live theatre shows, Desiree has more recently been drawn to exploring her own voice, playing the guitar, and writing her own music.  She also deeply enjoys co-creating music with others through organizing community singing circles and other collective music jams in the Boston area.

Emily Dennis divides her time between the Hudson Valley & Brooklyn, New York and will be making a special guest appearance for this show.  She has performed on stage in numerous professional musical theatre productions & live music shows around the country.   For Emily, her passion for performing is to help others feel less alone in their personal struggles and offer them a safe space to tap into the full emotional range we can experience as human beings.  She is very grateful to return home to her roots of singing with her sister.
