Ben Strawn / Hope DeLuca / Kinship

  • The Lilypad 1353 Cambridge Street Cambridge, MA, 02139 (map)

$12 / 9pm start / 8pm doors / seated

Ben Strawn brings his East Coast tour to The Lilypad, joined by Boston locals Hope DeLuca and Kinship. An evening of songwriting, stripped-back arrangements, and indie-folk sounds in an intimate setting.

Ben Strawn is a Tennessee-raised, Atlanta-based songwriter whose music blends indie-folk intimacy with jazz-pop textures. With a rich vocal tone and emotionally resonant writing, he’s opened for acts like The Band Camino, Medium Build, Abby Holliday, Olivia Barton, Lighthearted, and more. Influenced by artists like Iron & Wine, Faye Webster, and Sufjan Stevens, Strawn’s songs feel like whispered confessions—atmospheric, poetic, and quietly powerful. His work evokes the cinematic stillness of Leif Vollebekk and the emotional pull of Nick Drake and José González. It’s music for late nights, long drives, and the moments in between.

Hope DeLuca is a 22-year-old singer-songwriter based in Boston, MA. Known for her cutting lyrics & raw authenticity, she’s performed across the country alongside artists like Brye, Madds Buckley, Henry Jamison, and Isabel Pless. Her upcoming EP, To Want This, is set for release this fall.

Kinship is the alt-folk recording project of upstate-NY-native-turned-Boston-music-person Steve Kurz. Kinship’s 2024 record, ‘Today and Tomorrow Night’, is about the space between what can and can’t be controlled, thinking and overthinking, homes real and imagined. Leaning into home recording as a means to reflect the sonic ethos of a physical space, the groundedness of Kinship’s sound serves as the anchor to the themes of curiosity – equal parts cosmic, introspective, and playful – that emerge in Kurz’s lyrics.
