Kind King returns to the Lilypad to send off their bass phenom Tommy Mulcahy, marking the end of its current lineup in the same room where it made its debut.
Kind King is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalists Michael Thomas Doyle & Mike Moschetto. Combining the liminal soundscapes of post-rock with the vocabulary & adventurism of jazz fusion and prog rock, the live result is a cinematic, psychedelic maelstrom that changes each time it’s conjured, owing to the prowess of Tommy Mulcahy (bass), Caleb Green (guitar), Amory Sivertson (keys) and Jake Hirsch (sax). Their latest EP, Live from Baker Music Barn, was filmed & recorded live with no overdubs and features a cover of Weather Report’s “Birdland,” along with exploratory renditions of their own material. A forthcoming release of all new tunes should be available later in 2026.
Circuit Jumper is a new jazz-funk fusion duo from Boston.
