The Specific Heats create jangly, introspective indie pop that fuses their love for 1960s pop, garage, and surf with a dash of post-punk energy.
The group started in Boston and then were split between their hometown and Brooklyn. During that time, the band built a reputation and fan base for their energetic live performances, with consecutive summer tours in the UK and Scandinavia, and appeared in one incarnation or another for three consecutive years at the Indie Tracks festival in the UK. After a lengthy hiatus, The Specific Heats returned in 2024 with a new EP titled "Decaydes Later." As of this summer, they've officially returned home to Boston and have just released their third full-length, "Everything We Never Were (but Always Wanted to Be)," which Jangle Pop Hub calls "a triumphant return." This show is both a record release party for that album and a Boston homecoming.
Featuring members of Kathy Snax and Pledge Pins, Boston's Adult Learners play ridiculously catchy, keyboard-laden power pop through a punk filter.
They've just released their fantastic debut EP on Maine's Saccharine Tryst Records.
