Welcome to The Pound! KNNL is an up and coming collective of electronic artists, producers and creatives that showcase electronic, queer and alternative artistry. Our show series, The Pound, focuses on providing a space to the underrepresented, the freaks and the outcasts. On March 31st, KNNL brings some of its heaviest hitters to the Lilypad stage; .ivy, ASHERAH, Renn Boe & Archie Clark to deliver a night of ambient, introspective and textural sounds that will be sure to transport you to another world. Bring your friends and make new ones! All are welcome inside The Pound!
.ivy is an electronic artist and innovator in the art-pop sphere, utilizing her classical vocal training to amplify her ethereal compositions. She creates music that evokes a dreamlike atmosphere, allowing listeners to escape from the real world into her electronic soundscapes adorned by introspective lyrics.
ASHERAH is the experimental pop project of Ariel Morer, a singer, songwriter, composer, and producer merging ethereal, cinematic production with hook-driven pop and cyber aesthetics to create a sound that is as vulnerable as it is visionary. She invites listeners into a world of mythical futurism, exploring love, autonomy, grief, and metamorphosis with left-field producer and collaborator Medulasa.
ASHERAH’s artistry extends beyond her own releases: she has participated in songwriting camps for artists like Kimbra, earned placements in short films, and received recognition as a Berklee College of Music World Tour Scholar. Before launching the project, Morer collaborated with Platinum-selling producer Klaas on a track released through Universal France and Warner Music Germany, appearing on iTunes Germany’s #1 Dance Album. Her early roots in Miami’s electronic pop scene led to performances at festivals such as III Points, sharing bills with SOPHIE, M83, and Oneohtrix Point Never, and opening for The Radio Dept.
Renn Boe - “I wouldn’t follow my friends off the bridge they/jumped from, I’d stare at the impact/from a hundred feet away,” Renn opens on the title track of their debut EP, The Driver. It’s a brutal testament to their artistry: how they find the role of an observer to be even more visceral than the action itself.
Renn Boensch, known artistically as Renn Boe, is a singer/songwriter, producer, and DJ who combines their songs with self-directed visuals. Their alternative pop sound draws inspiration from the likes of Imogen Heap and Lorde, combining lush soundscapes with a thrilling electronic edge. With over five years of experience creating YouTube videos, they showcase their understanding of music as not only an auditory medium, but something that can extend to the field of visual arts. It’s their mission to combine their skills in writing, musicality, and artistic vision to create music that becomes a multi-sensory experience.
In 2020, They were quickly welcomed into a scene of online musicians on YouTube, garnering an audience of over 10,000 from the ground-up in less than a year. Now, their online presence has been elevated to capture their original songs and covers in the most cinematic and elegant way that they can, paying close attention to aesthetics and branding in order to forge a distinct visual identity for themselves.
Lyrically, Renn is able to meticulously capture feelings and mirror them, writing songs that are subtly personal, yet pointedly universal. Their writing comes from an impersonal perspective, like a fly on the wall, or someone overhearing a private conversation. They absorb every objective fact and piece of information about a situation, then write about it with vivid sincerity and truth.
Archie Clark - Aspiring sacrificial Lamb.
