A concert celebrating mixed asian music and the AAPI community with performances by Mehlani, Catherine Claire and Alex Amber.

MEHLANI

Mehlani is a 20-year-old singer-songwriter whose evolving sound blends alternative pop with occasional elements of Rock and RnB. Her debut EP Hurt People (September 27, 2024) offered an unflinching look at the complexities of healing and relationships, marking her arrival as a vulnerable yet powerful new voice. Now studying at Berklee College of Music, Mehlani is expanding her artistry with her most recent single, Articulate—a bold step into alternative pop that reflects both her spiritual roots and her search for a more mature, introspective sound. With a growing team and community partnerships, she is creating spaces for music that speak to belief, identity, and connection in ways that resonate across audiences. Mehlani’s artistry is defined by storytelling that cuts deeper than the surface—songs that hold space for struggle, beauty, and truth in equal measure.

ALEX AMBER

Alex Amber is a 19-year-old pop-rock artist whose music draws on heartbreak, insecurity, and the emotional rollercoaster of being a teenager. From performing in countless Massachusetts shows to writing and producing her entire catalog, Alex has been delivering vibrant music for years.  “Her music feels like driving home under city lights, replaying memories that are equal parts heartbreak and hopefulness” (Sonder Studio). While original to it’s core, her sound is often compared to Olivia Rodrigo, Gracie Abrams, and Maisie Peters. Heartfelt, poetic, and raw, Alex’s music rings with emotion and creativity.

CATHERINE CLAIRE

Catherine Claire is an Asian-American artist and producer based in Boston, MA. She is currently enrolled at Berklee for Music Production & Engineering. Born in Shanghai, China, she moved to Columbus, OH, where she discovered her passion for music at a young age. Music was a constant in her life, a security that stayed while the world was rapidly changing around her. She draws from her past experiences within her music and seeks to connect with her listeners through her lyrical storytelling. Her music often blends elements of indie pop, indie rock, and folk, creating a sound that feels both intimate and experimental. As a recipient of the Berklee World Tour Scholarship, Catherine continues to develop her artistry through performance, writing, and collaborative studio work. Her most recent release, “Reparations,” debuted on February 28, 2025, marking a pivotal step in her artistic evolution. She is currently working on a new single slated for January 2026, as well as a four-song EP that pushes deeper into immersive production techniques, storytelling, and innovative textures that reflect her cultural background and creative curiosity.
